WINNER - Fitzbillies in Cambridge
Fitzbillies Chelsea Buns
"We celebrate our 100th year birthday this year. We have a bakery and two café shops in Cambridge. Our Chelsea Bun recipe goes back 100 years too. They are very sticky and we have our own syrup made especially to increase the stickiness and flavour. We are currently delivering our buns to people in isolation but also generally serve them in the syrup from our cafe counters. We are well known for our buns and ship them all over from our online shop. Generations of families come back to us and the grandparents enjoy the same buns with the children and grandchildren that they tasted when they were students in the college decades before. Last year we made by hand 160,000 Fitzbillies Chelsea Buns."

Vegan Chelsea Buns
"I know, I know, these aren't hats. But I've been baking a lot lately and wanted to enter the @world.chelsea.bun.awards so 🤷🏻♀️ These are actually vegan (our egg supply was running low) and would have been refined sugar-free had 90% of people not voted to add an icing drizzle in my stories - you're animals. Also my first attempt at baking Chelsea buns so I'm pretty pleased. The competition also benefits the @childrensurgeryfoundation so it's all for a good cause. The hat action returns later in the week when I'll dress up and pretend the @kentuckyderby and Oaks are still on." 👒🥃
