Adults - Competition Entries
Katy @findingbakes says... My entry in to the @partridgesfoods #worldchelseabunawards 2021 adult category. A classic bun, pillowy folds of dough swirled and filled with currants, cinnamon and sugar. A sprinkle of raspberry sugar on top to give it a touch is spring. And raising money for the @childrensurgeryfoundation.
Chiara Berrani says... Sunday is good for Chelsea buns 😊 Not something I bake too often but they are soooo good. I used Mary Berry's recipe... Guaranteed success every time.
Jackie Heaton (@the_baking_nanna) says... Here’s my adult entry for the @partridgesfoods #worldchelseabunawards @world.chelsea.bun.awards 😁
@carolannewhitting says... I made my first Chelsea Buns today, @domwhitting has tested them, and approves.
@AliceinKensington the cat says... I like my Chelsea buns with a side of cat lick and grey fur.....the lady hates baking but for a good cause she tried her hand at making the buns of her neighbourhood for the first time. I did not help.
Carpenters Cottage Bakers say... My sticky and sweet Chelsea Buns, glazed with homemade marmalade and a drizzle of icing. Bakers from King's Sutton
Anja Theile says... Hope these cross-over-combining-the-best-of-both-sides buns/ Zimtschnecken find your benevolent approval. For it's not quite traditional, neither Chelsea nor Bavaria. First of all: no dried fruits, instead fresh apple, pear and pomegranate. No tablespoons but a lot of cinnamon and mixed spices. Less butter for the filling, I took some homemade jam (rhubarb and wild blueberry from last summer), the same for glazing. Worked out pretty well.
@auntycakebakes says... These are apple and currants flavoured with cinnamon and mixed spice. Finished with a sticky glaze and a salted caramel icing drizzle. I had mine warm from the oven so fluffy and delicious if I do say so myself 😋🥰 I used @billingtonsuk golden icing sugar and Aldi’s salted caramel flavouring to make the icing drizzle.
@Bakeembakes - Chelsea bun with a twist... so good, I’m CURRANTly on my third one 👏 Classic recipe plus dried cherries, dark chocolate chunks and topped with chocolate drizzle, biscoff drizzle and tiny fudge pieces 😍 All for a great cause - the children’s surgery foundation 👏
@Bakeembakes 2nd entry - Raisin the bar with these homemade classic Chelsea buns 👏 @partridgesfoods - donation made ✅ adult category ❤️
So grateful I was made aware of this amazing competition! Heather (AKA @Bellyrubgrub) is a trainee at Leiths.
Cathy Zeleniak - Chelsea Style Cinnamon Buns - Tiny, Ontario, Canada @cruttendencathy says... Today's bake! It's cold and snowing off and on so of course cottage comfort food is in order. So Chelsea style cinnamon buns are in order. The smell of anything with cinnamon baking is comfort.
Here is Shelley Douglas's second Chelsea Bun entry! @cookinginrollers
@cupofbavarois - Chelsea Buns
Edward Davies from Eugene, Oregon, USA says...These were my first ever attempt at making Chelsea Buns, and even my first attempt at risen pastries!
Apricot & Almond Chelsea Buns by Elizabeth English (Aged 85) from Kent. "I roasted the almonds myself, the dough rose in the airing cupboard and I used a 21cm deep cake tin to bake them." Delicious with Partridges Chelsea Flower Tea.
@fromthebottomofmypencilcase, Pippa says... Traditional currant, raisin, sugar and spice filling and glazed with a sugar syrup before dusting with caster sugar. A little lemon zest in the dough to give it a spring zing! They didn’t last long after photographing, the electrician was a willing taste tester after smelling them while they baked, along with my husband and one year old who happily munch on a chunk grasped in her fist.
Hannah Bint - Chelsea Buns
Shelley Douglas AKA @cookinginrollers has entered twice. Her first entry are these Cinnabons, ADULT Cinnamon Chelsea buns!
@KarenWrightBake - Savoury with bacon, anchovies, olives, parmesan & pesto - Great British Bake Off Contestant 2018

@LittleVeganCakery says - Never ending Chelsea Buns for days ...Oh yeah! - Bristol
Manuka Honey drizzled Chelsea Buns .... yum! The official Manuka Direct entry for the 2021 prestigious @world.chelsea.bun.awards . Thank you @partridgesfoods for hosting this wonderful event with donations going to the @childrensurgeryfoundation. Time for a cup of tea and a Chelsea Bun on this filthy wet and windy May Bank Holiday Monday! Sheer delicious indulgence 👩🍳 🧁 🍯 👌
@mspeachum says... Inspired by the flowering bluebells and the hydrangea in my balcony, here's my floral-inspired Chelsea Buns, spiced with cinnamon, mixed spice and cardamon, filled with rum-soaked currants and roasted walnuts, glazed with a sticky maple syrup and butterfly pea botanical rum icing.
@OurChelseaKitchen says... I went totally classic this time around, which I’m pretty sure means laminating the dough. I don’t think I’ll ever not laminate any variety of sweet rolls again because holy mama these are good. Studded with currants and slicked with a simple syrup. Classic for a reason, eh?
Ooey gooey Sticky Chelsea Buns by food blogger Pam Blacker from Canada
Sammie Feasting - Nothing beats these delicious, spiced, dried vine fruit sticky buns which are made with an enriched dough (containing eggs, milk and butter), which traditionally would also contain lemon zest. My twist is to make a light lemon drizzle using fresh lemon juice. Drizzled over as the buns are cooling, the lemon highlights the combination of plump, baked and spiced fruit, as well as the buttery, light bun, bringing all the flavours together in a symphony of comforting indulgence...
